Everybody does it, looking at their smartphone when they're comuting to work. When you're looking at your smartphone, you're focused on something else. You stand incredibly still. You don't even realize that someone might take this opportunity to draw your face on their sketchpad (👀).
This series of linocuts is my way of capturing people's faces under the light of their smartphone's screen brightness. I used fluorescent ink to make the prints, which then glow in the dark. If I were to hang them at eye-level in a dark room, a viewer might believe that someone is actually standing there, reading the news or playing Candy Crush.
