"BOYS", Services Généraux 2022
BOYS, a visual commentary by SERVICES GÉNÉRAUX
" BOYS is an exercice in empathy, humility, and introspection. "BOYS" is an exploratory visual
commentary on modern masculinity, initiated by Services Généraux with candor and curiosity.
The studio crafted a corpus of images and videos around stereotypical incarnations of masculinity and virility.
With an assumed and exaggerated naivety, we analyzed and dissected masculinity through specific themes like violence, sex, power, strength, and more.
A group of thinkers and intellectuals, Lila Braunschweig, Raphaël Liogier, Haude Rivoal and Nesrine
Slaoui, whose work questions those concepts, then replied to this visual corpus. The meeting of those
texts and images creates an accessible preliminary study, to raise questions, trigger discussions,
and inspire. "
As part of Services Généraux, I was fortuante enough to come up with some of the ideas that we shot, to actually go and shoot those ideas, and to work on the post-production of these images with the SG team. I've also been entrusted with the production and organization of the actual exhibition that took place at 3537, in Paris.
